Intensive Russian Assaults Disrupt Power Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have faced escalating attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have led to blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were injured while residents in the city's east were plunged into darkness and dealt with interruptions to water systems, as stated by municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a young boy was killed in a separate Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the southern area, based on information from regional authorities.

Russian forces has intensified assaults on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from international partners to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but firm measures - from the US, Europe and the Group of Seven - in supplying protection systems and enforcing restrictions," was stated in a online statement.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty rockets targeted the country's power systems, labeling such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were working to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes hit power facilities and apartment buildings in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been hospitalized, according to local officials.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region endured heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child was killed and multiple civilians were wounded.

The strikes succeed nights of aerial attacks in the region, sections of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

The whole nation is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to detect.

National leaders told reporters that Moscow was deliberately attempting to destroy the national power system, with attacks already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated technical personnel and officials were bracing for additional strikes.
